On the verge of starting her second album, Brooklyn indie-folk-pop artist Julia Weldon instead found herself awaking from a coma after a gender affirming surgery. After a year of recovery, contemplation and prolific experimentation, Julia had written Comatose Hope and recorded it with Drew Morgan, producer of Perfume Genius’s Put Your Back N 2 It.
